Mobile Broadband Comparison

People starting talking the topic about which broadband will provide more better services in terms of performance. Let's have a deep look inside where we do some research about Mobile Broadband in Malaysia.

As everyone knows, we have quite numbers of ISPs which providing Mobile Wireless Broadband in Malaysia and those are Maxis Broadband, DiGi Broadband, Celcom Broadband, P1 WiMax and Yes4G. In between all of these Mobile Broadband, we'll take a closer look on each of them.

As we knows Maxis SDN BHD is the first company which gain the very first license of 3G network, but still it provide some bad quality of services. It provides high speed but the response rate of overall is moderate.

Secondly, Celcom Broadband achieves better response rate than Maxis but it is slower than Maxis Broadband in maximum capacity of network. It carries up to 1Mbps most of the time while Maxis Broadband carries around 1.5Mbps mostly the time. During night time it's more even worse since some website will cause loading slowly.

DiGi Broadband which quote as "Better speed for less" really gives a good response rate on video streaming or loading a website but the problem comes to frequent disconnection and low coverage. DiGi Broadband mostly gives a good connectivity only when you are at a good position to get full coverage of their 3G HSDPA coverage.

Packet One WiMax faces the same problem as Maxis Broadband and Celcom Broadband facing which is consistency of network. Frequent disconnection or long connecting time occurs to the P1 WiMax modem which wanted to compete one on one to TM Net Streamyx. For some reason, Maxis and Celcom Broadband facing the consistency problem and it's alright but not P1 WiMax. It cost higher than other mobile broadband and it must provide at least better quality services.

As for Yes 4G as I mention in the previous post, if you able to pay for the fees and looking for better speed, this is the mobile broadband you are looking for. It gives good consistency and high speed which may up to 4Mbps.

In overall, Yes 4G wins in terms of speed and if you are looking for a cost worthy mobile broadband, try out the broadband with the quote "Better speed for less" which really gives a reasonable speed with reasonable price.

As per results, It will bring a major improvement with higher competition and better improvement. Which will probably provide better services at lower costs. It might impact the local economy regarding foreigners providing the server, because government will get a certain amount of share. Therefore, some might disagree with this idea.

Poll Analysis (24th February 2011)

Question: Best method of mobile internet connection

This analysis was generated by Thursday 24th February 11:35 AM, follows the data used to generate:
Total voters: 4
Total categories: 5
Duration of the poll: 6 Days

Result is quite predictable as it seems, because Maxis is the leading ISP in mobile category. TM's Streamyx mainly focus on cable internet than wireless connections therefore streamyx covers mostly Wifi-Hotspots. Celcom and DiGi seems low maybe regarding the coverage compared to the leading service providers. As it's my opinion following this matter. Poll analysis will be done at the end of every week, so please vote the choice which is best for you, in order to make the results accurate.

Please feel free to let us know your opinions.

Yes 4G : On the road with Yes4G !!

For less than few years ago, TMNET appears to be the only ISP choice for user who wanted to have an Internet connection and dial-up modem was introduced back then. Nowadays, several ISPs introduced to consumers such as TMNET Streamyx, P1 W1Max, Maxis Broadband, Celcom Broadband, DiGi Broadband and more is coming on the way. On 19th Nov 2010, YTL Communications SDN BHD launches their broadband services which also as known as Yes 4G for more choices for Malaysian.

With Yes 4G, new speed and generation come to Malaysia which using 3G and WiMax mainly for mobility internet services and even faster than all of the current ISPs. It has an unbelievable speed and stability for users who use the Internet service to surf or even gaming purpose but still the main problem comes since there is no perfect thing in the world. One of the main problem which people fear and faces oftenly, costs.

Cost was a big deal for every company which trying to set their new product and launch to the market and YTL Communication SDN BHD faces the same problem on their product, Yes 4G. Compare to other ISPs packages, Yes 4G is the top rank in cost per GigaByte (GB) among all the mobile Internet services which cost 9 cents for 3 MegaBytes (MB).

Though it was expensive to people but worth for those who gets frustrated with frequent disconnection, unstable line and caps limited on the network which TMNET Streamyx currently facing. When you subscribe on TMNET Streamyx for lets say their 4MB package, you will only get limited speed which you should fully use on 4MB line if you experience foreign countries. Yes 4G do have limit the speed but at least faster than TMNET Streamyx does, it achieves faster and higher capacity which achieves up to 11Mbps (Megabytes per second) while the other mobile Internet services such as Maxis Broadband, DiGi Broadband and P1 WiMax could not achieve such speed.

Based on the stability of the connections, Maxis Broadband oftenly faces some unstable connection which will causes disconnection or slow down the connection anytime when busy network situtation appears. Yes 4G does not face any slow down connection and it is stable enough comparing with other mobile Internet services.

In my opinion, for those who easily get frustrated with frequent disconnection and slow connection speed, you might want to consider about Yes 4G whether it provides a good service and Internet connection but I'm got to say that don't consider or think too much, just get it if you are affordable because it is worth comparing to other mobile Internet service. Although it is expensive than other mobile ISPs, but the differences in between Yes 4G with other mobile ISPs is just few bucks away. So you can worry for nothing about the cost problem.

As for speed, I am speechless on Yes 4G if you think that Yes 4G is still consider slow to you because as my experienced on Maxis Broadband, DiGi Broadband and P1 WiMax before, I know that Yes 4G brings a brand new speed and stability mobile Internet service to us which those 3 of the mobile ISPs could not do.

So what do you think about Yes 4G? GO GET IT NOW !!! =D
